Our Mission

At the Laramie Peak Humane Society, our mission is to protect, care for, and provide for the reasonable and humane disposition of unwanted or stray dogs, cats, and other animals; assist caregivers and owners of dogs, cats, and other animals in protecting, caring for, and treating animals in a compassionate and humane manner. 

Our Goal

To fulfill our mission, we prioritize fostering strong community ties through various programs, including impound and lost pet services, TNR, and vouchers. Our team and facility actively engage with the community, bringing adoptable pets to adoption drives, dog parks, and local events in Douglas, Wyoming. Join us for the National Adoption Week (NAW) March 24th to March 30th 2025!

We have partnered with PetSmart Charities to during NAW to help cats and dogs find their forever homes! While we will have cats available for adoption the entire week in PetSmart’s Cat Wall, we will have In-Person events the 29th and 30th!

Programs & Resources

  • Laramie Peak Humane Society is dedicated to the safety of the pets in our community. LPHS offers affordable microchipping to the public, $20 per microchip.

  • The Laramie Peak Humane Society has teamed up with the City of Douglas to offer a secure, temporary haven for impounded and lost animals while their owners locate or reclaim them.

  • If for some reason you are unable to keep your pet, Laramie Peak Humane Society is willing to take dogs and cats and place them into homes that are able to care for them.

  • LPHS offers spay/neuter clinics, vouchers, and TNR services.

  • The Laramie Peak Humane Society is committed to the welfare of all animals in our community, even those without a home. LPHS continues to lower the number of homeless and unaltered outdoor cats in our community through our Trap, Neuter, and Return program commonly known as the Community Cat Program.

  • Paws & Pearls

    Don't miss our biggest fundraiser of the year! Every first Saturday in December, animal lovers unite to support LPHS. Enjoy a night of dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and a delightful desserts dash. Stay tuned for updates on this year's event!

  • WyoGives

    Join us for a humongous day of giving for Wyoming! WyoGives is a day of online giving to non-profit organizations throughout Wyoming to build a better Wyoming! Mark your calendars for July 16th, 2025! We can’t wait to see how much we’ll raise this year!

  • PetSmart NAW

    PetSmart NAW (National Adoption Week) happens three times a year! We partner with PetSmart to host fun adoption events in their store (505 Newport Road, Casper)! These events help dogs and cats find their forever families while helping LPHS gain rewards from PetSmart Charities! Follow us on Facebook for future NAW dates!

  • Paws & Claus

    Join us next November for a special opportunity to capture the magic of the holiday season with your beloved pets! Get your pet's photo taken with Santa Claus himself. Mark your calendars and join us during Cowboy Christmas for this heartwarming experience!

  • Oktoberfest

    Get ready to show off your furry friend's style at our annual costume contest! Bring your dogs dressed in their best costumes for a chance to win fabulous prizes. Winners will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Best Costume category. Entry fee is a donation. Save the date for next year's event: September 2025!
